Review: Limitless (2011)

You talkin' to me?  Oh, you weren't?  Sorry.
Bradley Cooper (all of a sudden Hollywood's "It Man") stars as a meek writer who stumbles across an experimental drug that gives him the ability to channel his focus and utilize more of his brain power.  Soon this down-on-his-luck slacker has turned himself into a financial genius, being able to pick up the hidden patterns and trends of the stock market.  But his newly found "talents" have also drawn the interest of a business mogul (Robert Deniro) and a notorious drug dealer who both see dollar signs in Cooper's character.  As he tries to find a way out of their grip, he must also deal with a much bigger problem... his dwindling drug supply.  I loved the concept of building the better man, the acting was great, and thought the thriller aspect of this movie was right on.  Without providing any spoilers, I do have to say that I thought the ending felt extremely artificial and abrupt which tainted to movie a little for me.  Overall, it's a solid watch and would recommend.

My Score:  7/10
IMDB Score:  7.3/10
